Who we are
Capybara Lacrosse is an invite-only club founded by a collective of NCAA coaches and Division I players from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. United by a shared belief in lacrosse as a vehicle for building character, our founders have created a program that goes beyond the traditional elite club model.
Our mission is to provide a platform where players can explore the game, and take a break from the often rigid and high-pressure atmosphere of traditional club lacrosse. Whether it’s a midfielder labeled solely for their athleticism who wants to play attack, or a pole eager to try short-stick defensive midfield, we believe a vital part of developing is exploring the sports full spectrum. True development for young players does not come from being confined to a role, but by becoming a complete lacrosse player.
Our coaching staff exclusively features vibrant, current Division I players who serve as mentors first and competitors second, alongside NCAA coaches who bring professionalism and structure to every team.

Coach Chazz Woodson
Head Coach at Hampton University and a 10-year veteran of Major League Lacrosse. He was a 2x All-Ivy League selection at Brown University and a former member of the PLL Redwoods.
Coach ROD JENSEN
The first-ever head coach of the Colorado Mammoth (2003) and a highly decorated leader. He has won four WLA championships, including three with the Langley Thunder (2011, 2012, 2022) and one with the Coquitlam Adanacs (2007). In the NLL, he is respected as an elite defensive mind, having served as a coordinator for the Calgary Roughnecks and Vancouver Ravens.
Coach Isaiah Davis-Allen
2x All-American at Maryland and a key leader of the 2017 National Championship team. He is a former PLL Redwoods Captain, 2020 MLL Man of the Year, and a 10 year veteran of the NLL’s Philadelphia Wings.
Coach Quintan Kilrain
Starting defenseman for Johns Hopkins and a member of the 2025 Team USA. He was the first freshman to start on defense for the Blue Jays since 2017 and was the first Junior to ever be selected as Captain at Hopkins. First solo Hopkins captain in over 50 years.
Coach GRIffin Schutz
USILA All-American at Virginia and a 2025 PLL Draft selection by the California Redwoods. A former #1 overall national recruit, he currently serves as an assistant coach at the Berkshire School.
Coach Braeden Erksa
Standout attack men for the University of Maryland and the 2023 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He has led the Terps in total points for multiple seasons and was a primary contributor to their 2025 NCAA finals run.
Coach Brooks English
Senior midfielder and leading playmaker for Johns Hopkins University. He was an Under Armour All-American and a former captain at the Lawrenceville School, where he led the team to a national prep title. All BIG10 Selection.
Coach M. Jablonski
Assistant Coach at Ursinus College and former Head Coach at Muskingum University. He was a standout offensive midfielder at Wheeling Jesuit and remains the all-time leading scorer at L'Anse Creuse High School nearly 15 years later.
Coach Zak Semere
Founder of Capybara LC. Current NCAA Assistant Coach at UDC. Former face-off specialist at Wheeling University and an ECC All-Conference selection. Community leader who is dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse in under represented communities and more.
